As of July 23, 2017, the Penfield Town Board will begin working on the next Comprehensive Plan, which it expects to be completed by June of 2019.
Per the Town’s website: “The Town of Penfield updates its Comprehensive Plan about every 10 years. The Town is currently working with the 2010 Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan functions as the legal foundation for all land use decisions, defines the community’s vision, provides guidelines for development, and establishes goals and objectives for the next 10 to 15 years.”
Issues to be discussed include zoning and new zoning districts which, as we have seen with the potential for 250 houses to go in Shadow Pines Golf Course, are of major importance to the look, feel, and general quality of life for all residents. It’s concerning to this writer that it may be decided that areas of Town not yet touched by over-development will be begin to be.
This is a pivotal opportunity to try to effect how we as taxpayers want to see our Town grow and progress.
